Dear Families and Caregivers,
And just like that, February comes to an end. Hopefully March does not come in like a lion, as the saying goes. We (students and staff alike) are so ready to be outside.
Cereal Boxes for Kindness: Due to the snow days, we are extending the date to donate regular-sized, unopened boxes of cereal to Friday, March 6. Nothing gigantic or family size, please. So far, we’ve collected 370 boxes. If we want to surpass last year’s number, we have 1,000 more to go! All donated cereal boxes will be brought to Toni’s Kitchen after our domino effect demonstration. Thank you for your support.
YMCA Aftercare and Special Election: Aftercare on March 10 is canceled due to voting in the building after school.
ECO Action NEW DATES!: We’re excited to announce our second Eco Action Week schedule, March 16–20, 2026, the Wind Derby! We’re inviting families and community members to join us during school hours to help with a fun, hands-on event that brings our lessons to life. We need your help to make this event a success. The Composter is here!: Let’s get ready to reduce our waste at CHB! Our composter is almost ready to go. To help prepare, we will be conducting a waste audit next week, March 2–6. The purpose of a waste audit is to measure and understand how much waste our cafeteria produces each day. By sorting and weighing items such as food scraps, recyclables, milk cartons, and trash, we can see what is being thrown away and identify opportunities to reduce waste. We are excited to strengthen our mission of sustainability and environmental awareness at CHB and look forward to beginning our composting journey soon.
CHB Spring Fling, March 14: The CHB Spring Fling is our signature adult fundraiser, bringing our school community together for a fun and festive night out. Guests will enjoy great food, games, music, and an exciting tricky tray featuring fantastic baskets to win through a raffle—all while supporting important programs and initiatives at CHB. It’s a night to relax, connect, and give back.
