Principal’s Weekly Update
May 1, 2026
Dear Families and Caregivers,
How is it already May? Time is flying, but my heart is full today. I was the lucky recipient of so much love from our students, staff, and PTA for School Principal Appreciation Day. Reading the notes from our students was the highlight of my week. Knowing that they feel my love and support every day is the highest compliment I could ever ask for. Thank you all for the warm wishes!
Eco Action Walk-A-Thon
The donation pledges are in, and the students are ready to walk! The 2nd annual Eco Action Walk-A-Thon takes place next week, May 4–8, when students will walk laps around CHB’s playground—rain or shine—during their scheduled Environmental Science time. Be sure to have your children dress for the weather!
Donations will benefit CHB’s environmental initiatives, including planting native species in our Secret Garden.
Law Enforcement Torch Run
On Friday, June 5th, law enforcement officers will participate in the 2026 Law Enforcement Torch Run, a 26-leg, 750-mile event that carries the Special Olympics New Jersey “Flame of Hope” throughout the Garden State. The route passes right in front of Bullock!
Each year, Bullock students and staff line the course on Washington Street in front of the school and cheer on the officers. Students can also be a part of the race by running the leg that includes the front of the school.
A completed permission slip and suggested donation are required to participate. All proceeds support Special Olympics New Jersey athletes. If you would like your child to participate, please complete the Torch Run Permission Slip and return it to the Bullock office by May 4th.
5th Grade Science NJSLA
5th grade will begin the New Jersey Student Learning Assessment (NJSLA) for Science on Monday, May 4, 2026.
Please make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep, eats a healthy breakfast, and arrives at school on time. While emergencies may arise, please try not to schedule extracurricular events or family trips during testing dates. If your child is absent, they will need to complete the test during make-up dates.
Students are never permitted to have cell phones or unauthorized electronic devices in the testing room. All phones and watches must be turned off and kept in lockers during testing. Thank you for your cooperation.
