May Events (there are so many!)!

Hello CHB and May the 4th be with you! As we know, May is a busy month and we have a lot of things to share below. Please read through for all of the information.

Walk-a-Thon

Our 2nd annual Eco Action Walk-a-Thon is here! We need your support. May 4th–8th, our students will be walking to raise funds for our school garden. We are very proud of how far our garden has come, but we need to raise funds to help keep it going strong.

Please be sure to look in your child’s backpack for the form, or use the linked form, to donate. Thank you for your support and we can’t wait to get planting!

Teacher Appreciation Week is Here! May 4th–May 8th

  • Wednesday: “You’re truly the SWEETEST!” Bring your teacher a sweet treat.
  • Thursday: “It’s no JOKE, you’re the best!” Make your teacher laugh. Tell your teacher your favorite joke or riddle.
  • Friday: “You are so GROOVY!” Wear your CHB tie-dye shirt and show your love for our amazing CHB staff.

Message from the Montclair PTAC Nominating Committee

We need you! The Nominating Committee of the Montclair Council of PTAs invites all parents, caregivers, and community members to submit nominations to serve as officers on the PTAC Executive Committee for the 2026–27 school year.

You may self-nominate or nominate others by filling out the form by May 5, 2026.

PTAC plays a key role within our Montclair schools community in advocacy, communication, and supporting our school PTA communities.

Please see brief descriptions of the open positions in the PTAC Bylaws, with more detailed descriptions of the open positions on pages 4–5. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the PTA Nominating Committee at PTACNomCom@montclairpta.org.

If you, or a person you wish to nominate, are not a member of a Montclair PTA, you or they may join any of the Montclair Public School PTAs to be considered.

Thank you for taking the time to think about these parent leader roles that support our PTAs as they support all children, families, and teachers.

Montclair Athletics Blue and White Club

As you may know, due to the budget cuts, freshman sports at MHS have been cut for next year. This is what is exactly at stake: 500+ kids. 13 coaches. An entire freshman program. Away games. Home games.

The Blue & White Club is rallying to raise $176,000, and they can’t do it without you. Whether it’s $10 or $1,000, every contribution protects the programs that shape our student-athletes.

⚽️ The games are fun and family-friendly, and our kids will be able to walk on the field at halftime, along with some other perks! If you haven’t been to a game yet, please try to make this one if you can. It will be cool to represent Montclair, and especially CHB, out there on the pitch!
